The proposed accommodation is located in the residential area of Southill, Limerick, where Careys Building & Civil Engineering is undertaking construction of 42 dwellings including apartments across three blocks, to BER A3 rating standard, as well as external works including hard and soft landscaping.

The project also includes a new/realigned access road that serves the remainder of the Southill area, and will remain open throughout the construction phase. All services associated with the road will also be diverted while maintaining supply to the adjoining O’Malley Park residents.

The project consists of a mixture of two and three-storey residential housing blocks with two separate external green areas. The project is the first phase of an overall masterplan that consists of 80 dwellings. Buildings have predominantly monopitch roofs so that the ‘parapet’ side is effectively one-storey higher. Parking spaces are provided both on-curtilage and off-curtilage, with some areas of hard surface being shared between pedestrians and cars.

The project includes a significant civils infrastructure package including foul and storm drainage of up to 7m deep and realignment of 3 local roads while maintaining access for local residents. The works also include an extension to the Southill Area Centre.
